Working and Living In South East Queensland

Over the past few years South East Queensland has seen a huge increase in people moving from overseas and interstate for the chance to work and live there. We think that it’s easy to see why. South East Queensland is one of the best places in Australia to live.

The Pros And Cons Of Working And Living In South East Queensland

Just like any place in the world, South East Queensland has some great benefits to living and working there, but there are also a few drawbacks. Before you decide that you need a change of lifestyle, we want to paint you a clear picture of what we think are the best and the most difficult parts of living and working in South East Queensland.

Pros

Beautiful Place To Live We think that South East Queensland is not only one of the best places to live in Australia but one of the best places to live in the world. This region is blooming with natural beauty all year round. Not only is it home to some of the most beautiful and world-famous beaches in the world, but it also has a breath taking hinterland.

The Weather – The weather in South East Queensland is the opposite of gloomy. Queensland gets roughly 300 days of sunshine each year, showing that it really earned the nickname of the sunshine state. And while the summers can get a bit hot and humid, having the beach nearby makes cooling down an achievable task. The winters are also sunny and mild.

Plenty To See And Do – South East Queensland also has so much to see and do. The region has sporting teams for each of Australia’s biggest codes. They also get constant visits from some of the world’s most famous musicians and entertainers. And it seems like every weekend a new restaurant, or bar is opening up for locals to explore.

Developments Are Booming - For the last couple of decades, this area has been booming. This means that there is a demand for so many different jobs in various industries. The local councils within this region have also put an emphasis on creating fantastic public spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Cons

Renting – One of the drawbacks of this region is that there is currently a low vacancy rate for people looking to rent. However, this seems to be the trend in many places currently.

Buying – Since the restrictions and lockdowns happened at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, housing prices have been on an incredible rise. This means it is a bit tricky to get into the market in this area, however, if you can afford to, it might be the best investment you ever make.

Traffic - Road traffic has always been a bit of an issue in this region. However, new public transport initiatives and road expansions from local and state governments have been mitigating this issue.

Final Thoughts

South East Queensland is a great place to live and work — especially for skilled migrants —and we think that moving there is a great idea if that’s what you want.
